TruFlux Magnetic Flux Leakage Tank Floor Scanner
The TruFlux is a new concept in Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) tank floor plate inspection, incorporating a new level of user sophistication in its innovative design. The FS1 has the benefits of advanced features and practicality.
The TruFlux is a fully self-propelled high-resolution digital scanner, capable of producing highly accurate topographical images of 6-12mm storage tank floor plates.
Particular attention has been paid to the mechanical design of the TruFlux. Notably in its physical size, the TruFlux weighs just 32kg inclusive of its slip-in-slip-out lithium ion battery pack. Yet with its advanced design, no functionality has been compromised; in fact, significant advancements in floor plate inspection have been incorporated into the TruFlux system design.
PBU – Portable MPI Bench Unit
Baugh & Weedon is renowned within the NDT market (particularly the Aerospace industry) for providing reliable and high quality MPI Benches (with outputs up to 10,000 Amps).
The PBU is our desktop addition to our MPI range. It requires only a 13 Amp supply for operation. It offers both AC and HWDC waveforms as standard, and uses our Current Pre-Selection System to set magnetizing levels, with a working range of 100 to 1000 Amps. The PBU also incorporates Shot Time Selection and a built-in Demagnetizing cycle.
The PBU is a compact with an integral power pack and a clamping length of up to 13.75 inches (350mm). It is designed and manufactured in the UK by an extremely experienced team and made from highest quality materials.
Martin Sutton Joins Baugh & Weedon and ETher NDE
Baugh & Weedon and ETher NDE are delighted to be able to welcome Martin Sutton to the Sales Team as Area Sales Manager and European Sales Manager respectively.
Martin has a rich and long history within the NDT industry that spans over twenty years. Martin started his NDT career with a work experience placement in an Aviation heavy maintenance facility (looking after ageing wide body freighters) at Modern Jet Support Centre on Manston Airfield in Kent. While here, Martin showed a flair and passion for the industry and they offered him an NDT apprenticeship in 1993, which he happily accepted.
After three years of training, Martin enjoyed a brief career as a PC in the police force (with Kent Police) before rejoining Jet Support to continue with his NDT development and PCN accreditation. After spending the next 6 years working his way through his MPI, Eddy Current and Ultrasonic PCN level 2 approvals he went on to manage the NDT department.
New Engineering Team Member
At Baugh & Weedon, we are pleased to introduce Rizwan (Riz) Latif to our team as a Software Development Engineer.
Riz’s first contact with the non-destructive testing (NDT) industry was during a three-month placement at Sonatest, while completing his Masters at the University of Central Lancashire in 2000. For his masters, Riz fully wrote the transducer testing application, SonaCert. Riz stayed at Sonatest for the following seven years where he built on his Software skills, combining them with NDT technology.
During his time at Sonatest Riz also understudied some of the Senior Software Engineers on the embedded side of Software Engineering.
